Lock Screen Time with a passcode
Three settings already in your iPhone. After them, an app with access to Screen Time cannot be turned off with Face ID alone: the phone asks for the passcode. It takes five minutes.
Here's how
0 of 5 done-
1
Open Settings › Screen Time and turn off Share Across Devices. Do this first: turning it off also turns off Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Off. The settings then apply to this phone only.
-
2
Tap Lock Screen Time Settings and choose four digits. Then enter the Apple Account that can reset the passcode.
If the passcode is to hold you to your own limits, let someone else choose it.
Four digits, twice. Choose a passcode that cannot be guessed.
-
3
Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn on the switch at the top.
-
4
On the same screen: open Allowed Apps & Features and turn on everything you want to be able to use, for example Camera. An app switched off there disappears from the Home Screen.
Open App Installations & Purchases and check that Installing Apps is set to Allow, so apps can be installed and updated.
-
5
At the bottom of the Screen Time page, under Apps with Screen Time Access, you see the apps the passcode now protects.
